5 Foods to avoid on empty stomach

It is often said that one should have breakfast like a king. However, if a king were to eat these foods on an empty stomach, it is important to note that these foods do not discriminate based on status. So here's a list of my top 5 foods to avoid on an empty stomach.




Carbonated drinks


Having canned juice or juice with added sugar on an empty stomach will strain pancreas because of fructose, overproduction of insulin and fat deposits in the liver. 



Citrus fruits 


Fruits such as lemon, orange, and mosambi are excellent sources of vitamins. However, consuming them on an empty stomach can sometimes result in acidity, heartburn, and, in rare instances, ulcers.



Over spicy foods


Spice enthusiasts should be aware that starting your day with spices like pepper and chili on an empty stomach might lead to digestive issues such as gas, irritation, indigestion, and heartburn in the long run.



Tea or coffee


Skipping this step might be the toughest part for almost everyone. Having a cup of tea or coffee can lead to acidity and poor absorption of nutrients. 



Processed foods  


While cookies and cakes are undeniably tasty, their high sugar content can lead to laziness during the day.
